cyclo. - Festival Zemos98
Ryoji Ikeda performs cyclo. alongside long time collaborator Carsten Nicolai at Festival Zemos98. This is the work's premiere in Spain.
cyclo. is a hybrid of visual art and music. Together, Ikeda and Nicolai have developed a database of sounds that respond with visuals when analysed in real time using equipment developed originally in mastering vinyl records. The sounds are constructed through the minute editing of frequencies, and selected on the potency of the visual images they produce.
