Lynette Wallworth has been invited to create video imagery for its touring production of György Kurtág's masterpiece, Kafka Fragmente.
Widely acknowledged as one of Hungary's greatest living composers, Kurtag composed Kafka Fragmente to forty independent texts he selected from Kafka's letters, diaries, and notebooks. This austerely beautiful cycle of pieces is performed by Patricia Kopatchinskaja (violin) and Susan Narucki (soprano) in a staging directed by Neil Wallace. Wallworth’s evocative video artwork is the third presence on stage, suggesting a visual narrative that complements the emotional richness of the composition.
