Still: Waiting2
In 2010 Lynette Wallworth was nominated for Queensland's National New Media Art Award in Australia. To represent her work at the accompanying exhibition, a video piece, Still: Waiting2, was chosen.
When visitors enter the single-screen installation their presence causes birds, seen on the video footage of a tree, to fly away. The audience must then communally negotiate the space to enable the birds to return, thereby considering the complex interconnection of co-existing species.
The work was first shown in the UK at Arnolfini in Bristol.
