26 September - 26 October 2024

Forma has invited four emerging artists or artist collectives to take part in the upcoming London presentation of Artists’ Film International (AFI’24), taking place between 26 September - 26 October, 2024.

For AFI’24, the fifteen international partners have commissioned and selected powerful works by talented moving image artists from their region, who explore the theme of Solidarity. The programme considers solidarity as a collective form of resistance, togetherness and interdependence, and addresses the ways in which solidarity is needed, sought and enacted on micro and macro scales.

In keeping with the non-hierarchical and collaborative practice that is cultivated by AFI'24, an Associate Screening Programme showcases moving-image works from emerging London filmmakers, platforming their work in dialogue with artists from around the world. Selected by open-call, the four artists' films selected demonstrate the different ways that solidarity can be articulated through moving-image.

The four films will be screened for the entire exhibition period, alongside the fifteen films in the AFI'24 cohort, and will be accompanied by archival material from the London Community Video Archive (LCVA).
